A hunter explores to find the catch. He scouts the environment and with skill and precision, he nails yet another meal on the table for the tribe.
But at the same time, a huntsman can set up traps for the prey to fall in while he is away doing something else.
A hunter simply does what works.
But to me, it would somehow seem off to say that our tribe has shotgun hunters, trap hunters or bow hunters. In reality, we only have hunters who have different skill sets. But the outcome of their work is always the same. That is to hunt for the prey.
Wouldn’t it sound stupid to say we have automated lawyers, manual doctors or acceptance economists?
I can’t help but wonder why we would insist that our testers are labeled automated testers, exploratory testers or acceptance testers.
In reality, we only have testers with different skill sets. The outcome of their work is always the same. That is to find out what threatens our business still.
