Next level of problem solving.

We have this funny Easter tradition. The Sunday mornings are delightful then since a rooster or a bunny has decided to give everybody a surprise. I mean easter eggs, of course.

Everyone says they love surprises. But it is a paradox. We mostly love expected surprises. So are they a surprise at all if we knew to wait for them? We tend to rename the real surprises as problems.

I have a friend who even gets upset and gives me the silent treatment if it was a birthday surprise. She just loves the certainty more.

One of the strongest indicators predicting success in a person is his relationship to surprises we call problems. When facing problems, one’s ability to work under pressure is measured. It is the capacity to work in the middle of uncertainty.

Those do the best, who have the most time under pressure.

Of course, everyone has the same amount of time. So it all boils down to the feeling we have when facing trouble. Who seems to be and feel at peace even then?

Peace opens up options. And the more choices we have, the smaller the problem is. And the more time we seem to have.

But how then could we, ordinary people tap into that mystical resource that opens more doors?

The first step is the hardest. It would be to stop that useless anxiety. Frustration, wanting and whining does not serve any other purpose but to make bad situations worse.

The situation at hand is already as it is. The world does not ask for your opinion. Resisting makes no difference.

Once we accept what is, a new dimension of possibilities opens up.

The one, which remains forever hidden from those rushing around. Full acceptance and observing give us the ability for creative problem-solving.

As Einstein put it — I think 99 times and find nothing. I stop thinking, swim in silence, and the truth comes to me.

The next problem will also take you by surprise. What if you could become curious and study the reactions of your mind and body first?

They quickly grow silent when observed. And suddenly you seem to have more time, more options.

So what was the problem again?
