As I Walked Out The Door
As walked out the door for the last time, it dawned on me.
…Testing does not fix the software
…Testing does not control the project resources
…Testing does not decide the schedule
…Testing does not own the product or the concept
…Basically testing isn’t in charge of anything but testing.
What a fool had I been.
For not understanding the most important distinction about testing, I got fired.
Testing is all about discovering new information, and more importantly serving it in a way that others will make better decisions.
Testing is improving things through other people.
